Home

Our final abode
At the end of each day and
of Life - Home sweet home

Home is a place where we head to at the end of each tiring day. It welcomes us with open arms every time we go to it and embraces us with its warmth and comfort shoving away the exhaustion and fatigue of the day. Home is also the place from where we begin our day. In other words, home is the place where we are born everyday (rising from sleep each morning) and it is the place where we half-die each night (sleep is half-death, right?).

The home in this world, a building of bricks and cement, is a temporary one. What is the permanent one, then? It is that place from where we sprang into existence and to which we return at the end of Life. This is what I feel. There has to be a place from where we came and to which we will return. This world is a journey. All of us are travelling and searching for our home simultaneously. There are times when we feel different. We feel like we don't belong here. The world is just not the place for us. But then, there isn't any place to which we've been other than this world, is there? Yet, this feeling does exist. And come to analyse it a bit, it is no different from the feeling of home-sickness. We are in our home (the world), then how is it even possible to feel home-sickness of this sort? The only rational (maybe not completely) explanation is that there is a place other than this world which transcends time and space and it is for this place that we feel home-sick.

This is the place we were residing in before we came into this world and this is the place to which we will return after we leave this world.

Our Final Abode.
Our Home Sweet Home.

The Silently Loud Connection

Connections. There are so many notions taking birth in my mind that I can write a book on this single word. Right now, there is just one that is loud and clear and that is going to get my preference. I owe this one to Theme Thursday.

"Marriage is the unison of two souls", they say. I had my doubts about this courtesy my naivety, narrow horizon of my mind and my inability to see the rose amidst the thorns. At this stage of Life, I have risen above all the restrictions to notice and understand the beauty of the relationship called marriage. As I explore the subtelities of it, there is one that catches my attention - the mutual understanding between the couple. It's astonishing to see how unspoken words form their language of communication when required. Magical is more apt a term. One example that I take utmost pleasure in stating here is that of my parents. They exude this magic that I talk of. I have seen it and felt it in a way. This is no romantic fairytale kind of an idea that feels good in books and movies and can never come true. It is as true as it can be and it just takes a little bit of patience along with an effort to bid the devil called Ego a firm bye-bye to generate this sort of silent mutual understanding. It isn't a Herculean task to understand each other when feelings are expressed through words. The real challenge, so to say, lies in grasping each other's emotions by sending words on a holiday. It is as though an aura engulfs two souls connected by an invisible cord of Love and Understanding. And this is The Connection.

Truth Always Reveals Itself.

Veiled with lies as clouds
do, yet it will rise to shine;
Truth is like the Sun.

Truth never
lied; Ignorance made
Lie vanish.

Whirly Wordle ;)

With your pain, you pierce my soul,
I share your bruise although it makes a hole.
With all your might, you crash down on me,
I embrace your burst of rage and set you free.
Your playful beat embellishes me steady and slow,
I reflect your joy which makes my features glow.
With your edginess, you crumple my existence,
I don't crouch and aquiesce with persistence.
I help to draw your imagination on me,
And to chisel out your piece of art with glee.
I am the most faithful companion ever,
Trust me and I'll betray you never.
"How can I be so reliable?", don't you wonder,
To make one of my kind, many a tree they tamper.
I split myself with your joy, tears, creativity and anger,
Always with and for you, I'm your reliable PAPER!

;) :) :D

It's All Good! :)

Destiny might seem addicted to sorrows.

But, buried deep in its blood and marrow is a story with ordered randomness making sense to only those who join the dots and read between the lines.

And, they are the ones who can turn the staggering tunes of life into melodious songs gaining the ability to mate the broken pieces of their shattered hearts, again and again, which eternally glorify the phrase,
"After every dusk, there is always a dawn".

Day 16: Sin mars. Guilt repairs.

Sin-engendered GUILT-
Purifier of the soul
marred by wounds and scars.

You sin. Sooner or later, guilt is born. It grows. It tortures. Engulfs you into its darkness. Plunges you into despondency. Makes you feel disgusted with yourself. And the fact that you, and only you, are responsible for the sins you have committed adds to the misery. You have nowhere to go. You are helpless.

For such times of torment, God has bestowed upon us the blessing of Repentance. Yes! This is the only way you can bask in peace again. Shed tears. Plead for His mercy. Beg for His forgiveness.
The consequence of your sincere repentance is something very beautiful - Purification of your soul.
As you are repenting out of guilt, your soul is being cleansed of the marks left by your sins.

Guilt is the worst feeling but it has the best effect.
A PURE SOUL.

Day 10: Eternity in a Moment.

I can't recall any other day that is special for me except the one on which my nephew, Arfaan, was born.
How did I feel then?
The following set of haiku is the answer! :)

Clicked after a few hours of birth.

Cherubic aura
of his engulfed mine; First look-
Oh! So Enchanting!

He arrived and eyes
glistened with tears; Or let's say
Pearls of happiness.

Smiles accompanied
him; A truly special day
of all days in life.

Be Truly Grateful! :)

We say that we should be thankful for all the blessings that we have been bestowed with. We should be. But what about those people to whom we compare ourselves while being grateful?

"I thank God for giving me eyes to see the world. There are many who can't."
What do those people say who who can't see?

"I thank God for giving me food everyday to eat. There are many who starve to death."
What do those people say who stay hungry for days at a stretch?

"I thank God for giving me a warm and a cosy home. There are many who live on the streets."
What do those people say who don't even know what a home is?

"I thank God for giving me a loving family. There are many who don't."
What do those lonely people say?

"I thank God for giving me good health. There are many who don't have this wealth."
What do those people say who suffer everyday?

"I thank God for everything."
What do those people say who don't have anything?

I always ask these questions to myself and this is what I could come up with as an answer.

I feel that these people are specially-abled. If there is something missing, there is always something to make up for it. Either here or in the hereafter. It's a blessing in disguise for them. They acknowledge this fact and make the most of it!

And, these special people are more thankful and grateful to God than those who have everything and don't realise its worth. Therefore, they are much better because being ungrateful to your Creator is the worst of vices!

Day 8: Free or Enslaved?

Shakespeare is a warrior of words. I don't know if that makes sense but the way he makes words dance to his tunes is incomparable.
He is just awesome!!!

Thou art a free bird
when to thine own self thou art
true; Lies enslave thee!

Accept and Redeem.

The following lines are written on the prompts given by The Sunday Whirl (wordle 41) and Three Word Wednesday (3WW CCLVII). The three words this week are: detach, jolt, surge.

I stroll in Present's green field,
Protecting my permeable heart with pretence's shield.
I try to extinguish the flames of regret,
By freezing those moments that, anguish, beget.
I make an effort to detach Present from Past,
Forgetting that footprints left behind, forever, last.
And then, a fortuitous jolt brought with it the portrayal,
Of a startling revelation, halting this self-betrayal.
Enslaving yesterday's shocks with redemption and acceptance,
As I learnt, is the key to serenity and a blissful trance.
This surge of optimism and advice, divine,
Was a breath of fresh air that made me shine.
Now, i walk this earth sans pessimism's horn,
As a new, peaceful me is born.

After all, Tomorrow is another day.

The following piece is written for Carry on Tuesday on the prompt, "After all, tomorrow is another day.", the last six words of Margaret Mitchell's original novel "Gone with the wind".
These six words made me write the poem for the two most important ladies in my life. My mum and grandmum.
Each one is an epitome of patience and optimism!
I'm in absolute awe of their ability to face all problems and obstacles in life with a smile on their beautiful faces. Absolute awe!

When the darkness of gloom and despair,
Engulfs her without a sign of repair,
Her smile shines through it akin a ray,
As she beams, "After all, tomorrow is another day".

When the curse of anger endeavours,
To crush her under its devastating favours,
Her control turns it onto blessing's way,
As she says, "After all, tomorrow is another day".

When the evil power of failure,
Tries to make her feel inferior,
Her optimism rises above its play,
As she exclaims, "After all, tomorrow is another day".

When the barbs of shattering pain,
Pierce her heart and with agony, stain,
Her tolerance cuts and throws them away,
As she gestures, "After all, tomorrow is another day".

To every attack of Negativity,
Be it extreme or with brevity,
All she says with a hey and a yay,
Is, "After all, tomorrow is another day"! :)
